Job Summary:The Welding position will be responsible welding metal, assembling parts, and clean-up welds. They will be responsible for performing basic math such as adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing whole numbers. All welders will be expected to weld in a flat position and understand what a quality weld looks like. Duties and Responsibilities:ulliWelds and assembles parts to company standards./liliAssembles parts using a variety of tools and methods./liliResponsible for becoming proficient in the use of the equipment required by the job function./liliMay be required to explore methods of improving efficiency, speed and quality of work being done./liliExperienced welders will be responsible for performing finishing sanding, scraping, BB’s and other clean-up duties./liliWill be responsible for following departmental employee objectives, standards or directions./liliAdheres to safety, quality, inventory and production guidelines./liliFollows company policies and procedures./li/ul Minimum RequirementsulliA high school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional training, education or certification in welding is preferred./liliExperience preferred in one or more of the following welding processes: SMAW, GMAW or FCAW./li/ul Knowledge and Skills Requirements:ulliBasic knowledge and understanding of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production or precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models./liliAbility to perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers in addition to understanding fractions and decimals)./liliPossess the ability to read and understand both written and verbal instructions./liliMust be able to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g. patterns of numbers, letters, pictures etc.)./liliMust be able to read basic prints/schematics./liliMust be able to read and use tape measure, rule and square to fit parts and assemblies./li/ul Physical RequirementsulliMust be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds from floor to chest to high shelving./liliFrequent postural changes such as sitting, reaching, climbing, standing, walking, lifting, stooping and twisting./liliAbility to see details at a close range (within a few feet) and judge which of several objects is closer or further away./li/ul Note:This job description is general in nature and is not designed to contain or to be interpreted as a comprehensive inventory of all duties, responsibilities and qualifications required of employees assigned to the job.
