div bspanGeneral Summary:/span/bspan /spanspanUnder the direction of the Manager of Patient Access, this position is accountable for registering patients in an accurate and timely manner by obtaining individual identifying and biographical data following appropriate check in processes./spanspan/spanspan /spanbspanEssential Duties:/span/bspan /spanspan/spanspan /spanspan*/spanspan /spanspanResponsible for completing and coordinating each admission in a timely and accurate manner following a courteous and professional attitude; greets patients; explains services and rights to patients; responds pleasantly and professionally with medical staff, visitors, and other patients./spanspan /spanspan*/spanspan /spanspanResponsible for securing information necessary to complete admission process and 100% data validation of patient demographics; completes all forms including appropriate signatures; responsible for document imaging scanning of appropriate paperwork prior to services rendered/spanspan /spanspan*/spanspan /spanspanResponsible for PCP authorization/referral management /spanspan /spanspan*/spanspan /spanspanInforms and explains to patients/families all applicable government and private funding programs and other cash payment plans or discounts.span /spanIncorporates POS (point of service) collection processes into their daily functions/spanspan /spanspan*/spanspan /spanspanResponsible for monitoring and reviewing all ordered outpatient diagnostic scripts from physicians to ensure appropriate billing and coding occurs and entering accurate applicable dataspan/span/spanspan /spanspan*/spanspan /spanspanPerforms cashier functions; obtaining and processing patient payments, co-pays, and deductibles, phone and television charges, and patient remittances.span/span/spanspan /spanspan*/spanspan /spanspanExplains Advanced Directives and consent information and obtains signatures, with witnesses when required by hospital policy, with no validated errorsspan/span/spanspan /spanspan*/spanspan /spanspanOther customer service duties may be assigned such as escorting patients to appropriate area or any other clerical tasks as needed/spanspan /spanspan/spanbuspanspan /span/span/u/bbspanStandard Qualifications: /span/bul type="disc"li class="MsoNormal"spanEducation: High School Diploma/span/lili class="MsoNormal"spanExperience: 1 year experience preferred in a customer service role or health care industry./spanspan /span/lili class="MsoNormal"spanLicensure: None/span/lili class="MsoNormal"spanSkills Abilitiesb:/b Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT coding, medical terminology, and/or revenue cycle knowledge.
