Orthopedics Unit - 5 East: 5 East is a new, state-of-the-art, 20 bed inpatient unit that specializes in elective orthopedic and neurosurgical procedures. Our main populations include patients having a total joint replacement or spinal surgery. We also care for patients requiring surgery for traumatic injury (ex. femur fracture) and neurosurgical interventions (ex. craniotomy). Our mission is to create a holistic, person-centered, healing environment to facilitate the best possible outcomes for our patients and their families.

What You Will Do
As an associate with Ascension Michigan, you will have the opportunity to perform basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision.
Aids with movement and placement of patients.
Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.
Reports findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Documents necessary records.
Keeps patient rooms clean, orderly, and maintains medical equipment.
What You Will Need
BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. American Red Cross (ARC) CPR for Professional Rescuers card will be accepted upon hire but renewal must be a BLS Provider card from AHA.
Nurse Aide credentialed from the Michigan Nurse Aide Registry. Any issuing authority accepted.
High school diploma or GED required.
Prefer Orthopedic experience.
