Aerotek Design Engineer in Troy, Michigan
Looking for Design Engineer - they are currently quoting and winning a TON of new business for GM and Ford. There is currently one person doing this job (Lauri Arcori). Due to growth and winning of new business they need to add another person to the team. They are looking for a degreed engineer with at least 2 years of experience but also open to as much as 15 years. The person can have either NX or Catia experience - person needs to come from a supplier that has supported either GM or Ford.
Stay informed about appropriated quality-procedures, regulations and standards, requirement-specification and design checklist, during the development process.
CAD 3D - Creation of models, Changes due to strength, Creation of measuring devices, light & vibration - measuring devices. 3D file administration, and discarding CAD-files to the PDM system (Team Center) according to ZKW standards. Implement design changes.
Reconciles instructions placed by Chief Design/Systems Engineer.
Exchange files with the customer, suppliers, and internally, and send or import files after consultation with the Chief Design Engineer.
Create 2D drawings in consideration according to standards, tolerances, etc.
Responsible for the technical management of the team members in the project.
Accountable for the Design-Engineering work allocated to the scope of the project.
Completes just in time design on schedule.
Contact customer for coordination and solution finding for engineering problems during a project.
Plan, co-ordinate, executes and ensures all the work packages within a project, as well as the project tasks are successfully completed.

Top Skills Details:
2-15 years of experience
Degree in engineering field
Experience in exterior lighting industry or Exteriors Plastics
Experience supporting OEM at a Tier 1 supplier
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
-Bachelor Degree in Engineering
-2-15 years of experience in the automotive industry supporting GM or FCA at a Tier 1 supplier within the lighting industry or exterior plastics.
-2 + years Experience using either Catia V5 or UG NX
-Knowledge of design standards - general standards, drawing standards, GD&T
-Experience working with PLM software for data mgmt and documentation (Teamcenter)
-Experience working with technical, cross-functional teams for process and mfg (they have teams they will be working with in Mexico and Austria)
