DUTIESulliPerforms responsible accounting work to create and/or maintain accounting, financial and statistical records for the financial operations and transactions of the city./liliExercises initiative and independent judgment in organizing, maintaining and systematically reviewing financial transaction records./liliResponsibilities may include assisting in the preparation of financial reports, preparing payroll data and insurance reports, and/or maintaining subsidiary ledgers for projects, fixed assets, deposits, accounts payable and accounts receivable./liliWork is reviewed through conferences, reports submitted, results obtained and internal and external audits./liliPerforms other duties as assigned./li/ulREQUIREMENTS ulliBachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university. Applicants must submit proof of degree/educational attainment with application and official transcript at time of interview./liliTwo (2) years recent responsible work experience in accounting./liliMay consider applicants with an equivalent combination of training and experience./liliProficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and Word/liliAs a condition of employment, the successful candidate must pass a pre-employment physical./li/ulPREFERENCESulliStrongly prefer experience with Financial Software (i.e. New World Systems) and BSA Equalizer Assessing, Tax and Utility Billing software./liliFour (4) years recent responsible work experience in accounting./liliGovernmental accounting experience./liliExperience with general ledger account review and reconciliation, experience reviewing and verifying accounts payable/accounts receivable transactions for accuracy, grant administration, payroll and experience managing procurement card accounts./li/ul style="text-align: center;"AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER
