T. Marzetti Company Quality Assurance Supervisor in Saline, Michigan
This position is key in ensuring the safety and quality of all ingredients, in line product, and finished product. This person must be highly versatile, dependable, independently take initiative and use good judgement. They will also fill in for the QA Manager in their absence
Develop, improve, and/or conduct training programs for individuals or groups
May functional supervise several people (technicians or analysts) and/or lead one or more improvement projects
Make decisions on disposition and use of rework
Update and maintain spec books as well as spec summary sheets for operators
Assist R&D in running and summarizing plant trials
Assist in internal and external 3rd party audits
Be able to understand and perform the duties of the QA Technician/Analysts:
Collect samples of products or packages and monitor tests according to established procedures
Monitor processes to assure they are operating consistently
Document neatly and precisely all testing results
Organize collected data for management review (charts, graphs, tables, etc.)
Label and maintain samples of ingredients or products for retains or shelf life monitoring
Communicate inconsistent results or observations to management immediately
Assist in resolving non-conformance issues/quality problems at the plant
Recommend methods for improving any process to reduce waste, improve productivity, improve quality and/or consistency
Actively participate on MOE (Marzetti Operational Excellence) pillar and/or related subcommittee
Perform pre-op or environmental swabbing & inspection of equipment and facility, immediately reporting any issues to Sanitation & Production department supervisors and/or managers
Monitor plant for compliance with GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and report anything which might have a negative effect on our products or company
Maintain a safe work area and follow safety procedures
Maintain proper food safety conditions
Perform other duties / responsibilities as assigned by QA Manager
Degree in related science (BS or BA degree in chemistry, biology, and microbiology or food science preferred)
5+ years of experience as a quality assurance analyst in a food related industry preferred
Clear written and oral communication skills
Able to follow detailed instructions (written or oral)
Proficient in Microsoft Office, excel, and word
Be able to work and contribute in a team environment
