Aerotek Controls Engineer in Saginaw, Michigan
Ultimately they are looking for someone who can step in and help them improve the controls systems in order to improve their efficiencies. Ability to look at the system for flaws and then program around those flaws. Utilize downtime, scrap, inefficiencies to strategize countermeasures for equipment and process flaws. Looking for someone that does not have to be spoon fed work. Tim the engineering manager will provide a project or direction at times but is still looking for someone who has a high level of motivation for wanting to figure things out on their own and the willingness to do it. Eventually be able to help come up with a plan and strategize for the possibility of new equipment...(this would present the opportunity for new programming from scratch).
Work closely with the engineering team on the floor....Manufacturing Engineer and Quality Engineer.
Primary Responsibilities are to...
Utilize the data to help decrease downtime....this is the ultimate goal of someone in the position.
Program new (15%) when needed and Modify existing (85%) controls systems to plan and strategize countermeasures for equipment and process problems.
Reduce Scrap through the controls systems
Improve efficiencies through the controls systems
Improve Quality through the controls systems
Knowledge and or exposure to multi axis servo systems and or industrial vision systems/sensors (they do have a lot of vision systems)
Basic Networking knowledge (ethernet/IP, Ether CAT, I/O Link, Modbus)
Must have qualifications are....
Associates Degree is a minimum
Ability to program from scratch
Experience with Allen Bradley
Automotive...high volume/low mix of parts
Nice to have...
Vision system would be a huge plus
Someone who understand the goal of being a 0 defect supplier to the auto industry and what they are trying to achieve.
Understanding of lean manufacturing and truly wanting to be able to help the team find ways to implement lean systems.
