What You Will Do
As an Associate with Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital, you will have the opportunity to assistwith cardiovascular procedures to analyze, diagnose and treat the cardiovascular system.
Prepares patients for procedures. Reviews medical history, positions patients and cleans/shaves/numbs testing sites as appropriate.
Interprets, describes and reports test results; recognizes recording errors and artifacts and reacts appropriately.
Monitors patient prior to, during and after procedures and promptly reports any abnormal findings in patient's condition.
Prepares and maintains equipment, supplies and lab area.
What You Will Need
Must possess and maintain current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification at time of hire/transfer date required.
Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at time of hire/transfer date required.
One or more of the following:
RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) certification required, or must obtain within six (6) months from date of hire/transfer.
Successful completion of Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) training program
HS or Equivalent
High school graduate required
Some College - 1 Year
Knowledge of heart anatomy, physiology, cardiac procedures normally acquired through completion of one (1) year or more of allied health science course-work such as nursing, cardio-pulmonary technology or radiologic technology
- One (1) or more years current Cath Lab experience required. Supporting and scrubbing for interventional cardiac cases is preferred.
