Office Clerk – Portland, MI

ADM Animal Nutrition

This is a non-exempt level position.

ADM Animal Nutrition – a division of Archer Daniels Midland Company and national manufacturer of livestock feed has an immediate opening for an Office Clerk at our Portland, MI facility.


Provide customer service and order entry support for ADM Animal Nutrition customers and field personnel. Assist in general office clerical duties, including data entry, inventory control, and A/P & A/R. Provide back-up support for other office positions as necessary. Organize customer pickups and dispatch deliveries to ADM customer base in the region.


  • Work with plant personnel to determine inventory availability, schedule orders, and expedite shipments.

  • Understand and comply with Company procedures, processes, and business systems protocols.

  • Work in a team environment with all co-workers to achieve a high level of employee commitment and morale.

  • Provide solutions to customer’s problems using a friendly common sense approach.

  • Analyze customer account issues, make sound decisions, and maintain customer accounts accurately and with fiscal responsibility.

  • Accountable for additional customer service projects, as assigned.


  • Associate degree preferred but high school diploma and relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of education.

  • Accounting and/or bookkeeping knowledge with a strong customer service background.

  • Personal computer skills required, with exposure to Microsoft Office software preferred.

  • Good analytical and mathematical skills.

  • Strong attention to detail necessary.
