Robert Half International Accounts Receivable Clerk in PORT HURON, Michigan

Description

Accountemps is seeking an Accounts Receivable (A/R) Clerk. If you're interested in work where you will enter, post and reconcile batches, research and resolve customer A/R issues, prepare aging report, place billing and collection calls, maintain cash receipts journal, update, and reconcile sub-ledger to G/L, you will succeed in this position. If you are a self-starter with high attention to detail, you will be a good fit for this Accounts Receivable Clerk position, which handles 200+ invoices a week. This is a long-term temporary-to-full-time Accounts Receivable Clerk position and is based in the Port Huron, Michigan area.

Your responsibilities in this role

  • Verify codes and documents

  • Balance bank accounts, posting and balancing financial data in a number of different ledgers

  • Take care of payments and compile segments of monthly closings and annual reports in compliance with GAAP

  • Locate delinquent customer accounts through various means, e.g. skip-tracing, phone contact, written correspondence, and make arrangements for payment

  • Offer information to shippers, customers, the sales/marketing department and other stakeholders

  • Contact clients to help resolve payment issues; assist in setting up payment plans

  • Execute a range of foundational accounting tasks in agreement with normal procedures, including general accounting tasks

  • Communicate, reinforce, and support the values, culture, and mission of the organization

Requirements

  • Knowledgeable of ERP systems

  • Proficiency in general ledger

  • Expertise in cash posting

  • Accounts Receivable (AR) experience desired

  • Account reconciliation experience preferred

  • AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting or related field desired

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable

  • Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

  • General proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel preferred

  • Proven analytical skills in basic accounts receivable and accounting policy
