McLaren Health Care Inventory Coordinator in Pontiac, Michigan
Responsible for coordinating assigned
departmental inventory stock and non-stock items to assure that adequate
supplies are available for patient care and administrative use. Frontline communication with customers. Analyzes data (i.e.; par levels), identifies
inefficiencies and areas for expense reduction. Also includes processing requisitions
according to established procedures following contractual commitments. Works independently, uses judgement and
discretion during day-to-day activities.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Checks stock level for properconsumption rates to assure adequate stock is available at all times.
Monitors daily issue requestsand receipts for accuracy in counts and assures correct charges todepartment.
Utilizes cycle countingprocedures to compare physical counts to perpetually tracked computerbalances to identify gains, losses, and value accuracy. Determinessource of errors and work with management to correct.
Monitors and works with COP (CentralOrder Processing) on all open orders and back orders to assure properstock levels.
Reviews on an ongoing basicstock vs. direct items designations to assure effective control ofsupplies is maintained.
Puts away stock as needed.
Maintains data history andprepares activity reports relating to inventory issues/supplies, i.e., dollarsissued per day, turnover rates, items added or deleted.
Prepares, runs and manipulatesreports as needed to effectively manage inventory/supply usage in a givendepartment
Participates in medical centerand/or departmental quality assessment and continuous quality improvementactivities as directed:throughidentification of quality improvement opportunities, goal setting,collection and evaluation of data, implementation of action plans, orrelated applications.
New Item request; uploading andextracting cleansed data prior to CSM submission.
Appropriate system maintenancedefined by security settings and policy. (i.e. par cart maintenance,request cart maintenance, end user education/support, etc.).
Accountable for the effectiveand economic disposal of all misdirected, outdated and obsolete goods.
Responds to all questions,complaints and requests for information from staff within 24 hours. Allnecessary follow up action is completed satisfactorily in writing, emailor by telephone.
Works with sourcing and subsidiaryteam to:
Implement all corporateinitiated product conversions
Identifying potentialsubsidiary and corporate cost saving initiatives
Performs all other duties asrequired or requested.
Required: Associate degree or equivalent related medical job experience.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in related field and experience in supply chain or medical field.
