Adient US LLC Senior Tax Analyst in Plymouth, Michigan

JOB DESCRIPTIONOverview:Senior Tax Analyst -Reporting directly to the Domestic Director of Tax, the Senior Tax Analyst will assist in the preparation of the company's U.S. tax provision (ASC 740). The Senior Tax Analyst will also assist in the preparation and review of the company's U.S. tax returns, as well as provide support for tax planning, analysis and reporting. This role will need to be proficient in tax laws affecting the company. In addition, the senior tax analyst will provide direction and technical guidance to less experienced staff.Core Responsibilities:•Assist with preparation of domestic tax quarterly and annual tax provision calculations.•Prepare and review tax returns and workpapers for federal and state income/franchise tax returns.•Assists with review of Sales and Use tax reports.•Review estimated payments and extensions, registrations, and other return processes.•Support domestic tax audits, including state and federal tax audits, as they arise.•Perform tax research to assist with return filings, tax planning projects and in response to business unit questions.•Recognize, anticipate and resolve tax issues; make recommendations.•Work closely with Tax Director and other members of the Tax Department on corporate tax projects.Basic Qualifications:•Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance•4+ years of experience within the Tax function of a publicly held corporation, public accounting firm, or law firm.•Extensive knowledge in preparing and reviewing US tax calculations, compliance and ASC 740•Experience in developing, presenting and implementing process improvements, new approaches and best practices•Exposure to U.S. tax planning strategies•Detail orientated approach which meets deadlines•Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently•Experience with tax compliance and provision software, such as One Source and tax research software such as RIA, CCH and BNAPreferred Qualifications:•CPA, JD, LLM, MST, and/or MBA preferred•Public accounting experience preferred•Sales and use tax experience preferred, but not required•Experience with SAP and HFM preferredPRIMARY LOCATIONCentral Tech Unit Plymouth MIAdient is an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, , national origin, age, protected veteran status, status as a qualified individual with a disability, or any other characteristic protected by law.
