The Chassis Systems Control NAFTA Product Division develops innovative solutions for active driving safety. Job Description

  • Product Quality Engineer to represent Bosch interests in customer quality topics, supporting the Bosch Chassis Systems Control division.

  • Establish relationships within Bosch and at North American customers to effectively identify and manage quality risks, with the goal to proactively improve Bosch quality.

  • Support quality topics from early development and application through product launch and series production.

  • The Chassis Control products supported by this position will contain embedded software and electronics, for example an airbag control unit, mid-range radar, or electronic stability control.

  • Work from Bosch Plymouth location (85-90%) with occasional travel to Bosch manufacturing and customer locations (10-15%)

Responsibilities include:

  • Track warranty part failure analysis done by Bosch plants for 0-mileage & field defects.

  • Monitor product quality data, identify and address factors driving negative warranty/field performance trends.

  • Ensure quality requirements are adhered to during the product design phase.

  • Identify and manage quality risks before they become issues with support from cross functional teams.

  • Ensure overall success of the product launch and production.

  • Attend customer and internal program meetings, report status of quality deliverables.

  • Build and manage customer relationships.

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering

  • 2+ years of experience in an automotive product role (design, manufacturing), working within a cross-functional team, supporting customers, both internal and external.

Preferred:

  • BSME or BSEE

  • Proactive approach to work and communication with emphasis on teamwork and adaptability.

  • Software experience.

  • Engineering or Design experience.

  • 2+ years of experience in Quality.

  • Ability to troubleshoot automotive systems and handle difficult customer situations.

  • Experience with common problem solving tools (8D, Six Sigma, FMEA, DRBFM, 3x5 Why's, Ishikawa).

  • Capable of effectively communicating to various areas of the organization (e.g. supplier quality,supply chain, product technical support, engineering, plant quality, field service, etc.).
