Adient US LLC Director of Continuous Improvement in Plymouth, Michigan

JOB DESCRIPTIONJob Title: Director CI BBPCore Responsibilities:•Succession planning and people development for Master Black Belts, CI Managers, Black Belts, Green Belts and Lean Implementers.•Improve Six Sigma process capability of our operations and remove costs of poor quality through identification of waste, development and implementation of Six Sigma projects and leveraging resulting best practices.•Work with Ops leadership to develop and deliver the three year strategic plan (Waterfall Methodology).•Maintain and improve BBP metrics across all plants and product lines within the business unit.•Work closely with unit controllership to maintain metric integrity.•Leverage best practices:•Conducting leadership benchmarking to BIC operations•Maintaining a monthly affinity team monitoring and best practice deployment process.•Drive Lean manufacturing in new launches and in operations through AMS implementation, lean implementer and leadership development, lean glide-path implementation; value stream mapping.•Conduct CI regional reviews to drive best practice identification and to ensure Continuous Improvement forward progress.•Establish C.I. Profit Plan and subsequent Forecast goals; Drive team to achieve.•Align CI resources to deliver ops unit objectives in people development, quality, scrap reduction, labor efficiency, inventory, capital and conversion cost.•Coach and audit performance through regularly scheduled plant reviews.•All other tasks as assigned.Qualifications:•Undergraduate degree is required, Master's degree is preferred.•Demonstrate high-level performance in current and previous positions.•Show initiative, the desire to drive change and is motivated to exceed expectations•Has solid leadership skills and able to manage both vertically and horizontally at the Operations Director and VP level.•Has sufficient experience within the Company to be able to understand the organization and its business processes.•Six Sigma certification is required.•Has demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and the ability to exercise influence without authority.PRIMARY LOCATIONPlymouth Swing OfficeAdient is an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, , national origin, age, protected veteran status, status as a qualified individual with a disability, or any other characteristic protected by law.
