This role primarily focuses on sourcing new components, supporting program launches, processing purchase orders, evaluating data and supplier management. This position will require a general understanding of purchasing policies and procedures, purchasing related laws, agency, legal and ethical obligations.Core Responsibilities:•Clear understanding of supplier terms and conditions.•Ability to negotiate (tactics, techniques, and strategies).•Working knowledge of how supply strategies fit into corporate strategies.•Evaluate cost breakdowns to identify opportunities to reduce overall cost.•Target cost book management.•Impact of time value of money calculations.•Execute commodity strategies.•Able to communicate effectively.•Good time management and effectively works as a part team. #QualificationsQualifications:•4 year degree with a Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Business or related degree or equivalent experience required.•Ideally have 3-5 years of experience as a buyer, preferably in the automotive industry, or related work experience working with suppliers and internal cross functional teams•Record of implemented cost savings•Responsible for high amount of annual spend in external purchases; dealing with multiple suppliers and commodities•Analytical thinker; able to analyze supplier quotes cost breakdowns•Some technical manufacturing knowledge•Self-starter•Able to summarize complex issues and communicate to all levels of management•Strong written and verbal communication and problem solving skills•Ability to be successful working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities•Able to multitask several projects and programs•Results driven•Strong excel skillsJob Supply Chain ProcurementPrimary LocationUS-MI-PlymouthOrganization Automotive Seating
