*Job Title: Technical Manager, Generative Design and Additive ManufacturingJob Duties:Design, integrate, or improve manufacturing systems or related processes. Work with commercial or industrial designers to refine product designs to increase producibility and decrease costs. Function as main Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Automotive Design and Simulation in the Office of the CTO at Autodesk. Ensure completion of tasks on consulting projects pertinent to Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM). Coach team members in various simulation tasks using FEA, CFD, Optimization, and other numerical solutions. Undertake car crash simulation advanced nonlinear techniques. Engage in high level conceptual and engineering design tasks using Autodesk Design Suite. Manage projects and resources with responsibility for technical governance. Supervise and control the work of direct/indirect reports, delegate tasks, and communicate with customers and internal stakeholders. Oversee the investigation of new methods and techniques to optimize parts for weight and efficiency. Regularly liaise with senior-level management on the status of project and estimated time to completion. Review and assess designs for AM suitability through generative design. Lead research projects in additive manufacturing processes and materials testing. Plan, prepare, and simulate build. Function as the main Point of Contact (POC) for the customer and be responsible for maintaining the customer relationship.Must be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States and abroad.Minimum Requirements:Bachelorrsquo;s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science, or related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a design simulation and manufacturing engineering-related occupation.Special Requirements:The position requires at least 3 years of experience in each of the following skills:ulliApply principal design and hand calculation, utilize CAD tools including Autodesk Fusion 360 and Autodesk Inventor;/liliUtilize Generative Design technologies like Topology to generate ideal load path shapes; conversion and modeling of ideal shapes;/liliAssist with conceptual and engineering design tasks using Autodesk Design Suite. Assist with various simulation tasks using FEA, CFD, Optimization and other numerical solutions;/liliSimulation Techniques utilizing FEA Pre-Processors to build Simulation models and Fluid Dynamic Simulation with CFD tools;/liliDesign for Additive Manufacturing; design for Prototype and Manufacturing designs using CAD and Additive tools; test and evaluate design concepts for AM with printed scale models;/liliManage tasks, liaise with customers and internal stakeholders;/liliRegular reporting to senior management on status of project and estimated time to completion;/liliAdvanced nonlinear techniques including Explicit Crash Simulation; and/liliExperience in calculating Reaction Forces and Kinematic acceleration with hand calculations./li/ulMust be available to work on projects at various, unanticipated sites throughout the United States and abroad.TO APPLY: Please e-mail resume to occupation.specialist@autodesk.com and indicate job code SG55 on resume.
