Aerotek 3rd Shift - Finishing Technician in Niles, Michigan
Finish Technicians are the last process of constructing trailers before they are sent out for shipment. They will receive trailers from the paint department and:
Starts with the structure of the trailer and the candidate will add all of the parts to complete the entire trailer (wiring, hydraulic lines, decals, axle assembly, etc.). No electrical wiring/hydraulic line hook up experience is necessary.
Install brake lines and wiring components (very simple based on a kit assembly list (similar to assembling something from IKEA))
Screwing in the axles onto the base of the trailer
Utilization of basic hand and power tools
Placing decals/reflectors onto the trailers
Need to be able to follow directions
Maintaining cleanliness of work station (broom)
Candidates that are familiar with assembly and are mechanically inclined are perfect for this role.
The title “finish” needs to be broken down into 2 jobs.
The finish line will consist of 2 person teams
1 will be the finish installer. This person will run airlines, rubber hoses , electrical wiring , install lights , stickers and decals.
2 will be an air brake technician or mechanic. This person will remove and clean the hubs. replace with new the slacks, chambers, brake shoes. Remove and install new bearings and bushings, used hubs then torque bearings using proper torque procedure.
