ProMedica Health System Social Worker MSW - Outpatient Behavioral Health - Full Time - Days in Monroe, Michigan

Under general direction, but following established policies and procedures, provides outpatient mental health and/or substance abuse counseling and therapy. Using a professional level of knowledge assesses patient's emotional, social and psychological needs and determines appropriate intervention methods. Maintains related records and works cooperatively with other caregivers, case managers and managed care representatives.

Job Requirements:

  • The level of knowledge obtained with a master's degree in social work.

  • Currently licensed by the Board of Social Work Examiners to practice as a social worker in the state of Michigan.

  • For staff serving individuals with a primary diagnosis of a mental health nature, two years experience in a setting for serving patients with mental health concerns preferred.

  • For staff serving individuals with a substance abuse only diagnosis, two years experience in substance abuse setting, or passing or obtaining of NCAC, CCDC or FOADP
