The Security Officer 3 works under to the Parking Operations Manager in the Department of Transportation Services. This position manages the afternoon and evening (1pm-9:30pm) parking and transportation services on campus as well as be a liaison for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. This position requires extensive knowledge of transportation policies and procedures to make decisions and to provide superior customer service. The incumbent plays a key role in the maintenance and operations of the parking equipment including gate systems.
Minimum 1-year experience in parking & transit security
Must possess a valid Wisconsin state operator’s license and meet the standards set for the State’s driver authorization requirements. The incumbent must drive a motorized vehicle with a license plate scanner for parking enforcement.
Demonstrated customer service experience
Evidence of the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds stoop, bend, twist, reach, push, pull, squat, kneel, and be on your feet for several hours at a time
Evidence of the ability to handle hostile situations
Demonstrated experience using a computerized hand-held citation writer
