Position Purpose:

Provides clinical and administrative leadership planning, organizing, directing, monitoring and evaluating safe, superior and quality resident care to ensure the advancement of clinical practice and resident care that is consistent with the directives of THSC. Develops, implements, and manages ongoing measurement, action planning, and evaluation methods related to all dimensions of performance inclusive of budget, productivity, culture of safety, associate engagement, resident satisfaction, physician satisfaction, and clinical outcome targets for the areas of responsibility.

General responsibilities will include:

  • Alignment and delivery of high quality and functional expertise of all clinical staff.

  • Create standardized models for internal education; coordinates and achieves highly proficient clinical staff.

  • Responsible for clinical outcomes, financial performance of the department, customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction, and regulatory compliance.

  • Provides leadership over the implementation of policies and procedures to guide the operations.

  • Ensures that all clinical services are provided in a manner that supports continuous quality improvement, customer oriented focus, and quality resident care outcomes. Candidates will have:

  • Current Registered Nurse with a valid state license and/or subject to registration in the state where practice/consulting occurs.

  • Previous 1-3 years experience as a Director of Nursing that includes operational management experience in Long Term Care preferred.

  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills in order to interact in extremely delicate, sensitive and/or complex situations.

  • Candidates should also possess the ability to work as part of a team, coach and train staff, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Must demonstrate analytical ability and possess a comprehensive knowledge of basic data analysis and communication tools including, Excel and Word.

  • Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.

  • Must possess and demonstrate personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals and values of Trinity Health. Education Requirements:

  • Current registered nurse with a valid Iowa License

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
