UPWARD Talent Council serves the 15 counties of Michiganrsquo;s Upper Peninsula.Job Summary: Workforce Services Specialists provide support to employers, job seekers, training institutions, partners, co-workers and the community by utilizing the Demand Driven Model. Training Specialists function as a team to assist employers in filling their training needs. The primary function of the role is to ensure the connection of UPWARD Talent Council to the business community by recruiting, identifying, upskilling, and matching job seekers with employer talent needs.Job Expectations: ulliWhile maintaining comprehensive knowledge of the workforce system, provide focused services to both talent and employer customers who are assessed as in need of training services/liliProvide services required under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), Employment Services, PATH, Trade Act, and other workforce development programs/liliAssist talent and employer customers with accessing training services, including classroom training, OJT, apprenticeships, and other programs as applicable to the customerrsquo;s needs/liliTake responsibility for achieving performance goals of the team and ensuring success of the UPWARD region/liliEstablish relationships with partners that will strengthen services and connect customers to relevant resources/liliRepresent UPWARD and Michigan Works! in the community on Boards, Councils, Forums and other venues, as appropriate/li/ulTravel: There is a moderate amount of travel within the region with this position.Job Qualifications:ulliBachelorrsquo;s Degree, preferred/liliAbility to communicate effectively with others to create a productive environment/liliFamiliarity with Microsoft Office and other standard applications/liliExcellent communication skills, both verbal and written/liliHighly motivated and target driven/liliAbility to establish and maintain professional working relationships/liliAbility to work in a fast paced and rapidly changing environment/liliExperience using computers for a variety of tasks/liliRelevant work experience, preferred/li/ulSalary and Benefits: Starting salary $30,596.
