FLSA Status: Exempt

Department: Clinic Admin

Location: Iron River & Ontonagon, MI, Michigan

Employment Status: Full-time

FTE: 1.0 (80 hours bi-weekly)

Physical Work Location: Ice Lake & Ontonagon Family Health Centers


The Practice Manager provides daily administrative and operational oversight to ensure the overall efficient and smooth running of his/her assigned integrated medical, dental, and behavioral health clinic(s). The Practice Manager ensures adherence to organizational and operational policies and procedures, ensures clinical and support staff relations are maintained, clinics are properly staffed and providing quality patient care, ensures financial/productivity objectives are met, and will be an integral part of the operations team. The Practice Manager works collaboratively with other UGLFHC leadership ensuring that clinic goals and objectives are met on a daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual basis. This position will provide administrative and operational oversight at the Iron River and Ontonagon Clinics.

Education, Training, Licensing and Credentialing


  • High school diploma

  • Active, unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) , or other clinical license in medical, dental, or behavioral health in the State of Michigan

  • Current life support certification or ability to obtain prior to hire


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in healthcare related field

  • Professional certification in Practice Management and/or advanced training in business management

Experience and Skills


  • A minimum of two years of clinical experience

  • Proficient using an electronic health record

  • Experience leading a team and personnel management

  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite


  • Experience in health care management

  • Experience utilizing eClinical Works (eCW) electronic health record system

  • Experience working in a FQHC or Rural Health Clinic

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
