Big Bear Adventures OUTDOOR RECREATION MANAGER and ASSISTANT MANAGER in Indian River, Michigan

Big Bear Adventures in Indian River, Michigan is seeking a full-time, uyear-round/u Outdoor Recreation Manager, and a full-time, useasonal/u Assistant Manager (which could lead to year-round). For over 40 years, we have been offering exciting Canoe, Kayak, Raft and Tube Trips on the Sturgeon River (the fastest and most challenging river in Michiganrsquo;s Lower Peninsula!) We also have a Family Fun Center with a beautiful 18-Hole Adventure Golf Course, Ropes Challenge Course, Bumper Boats, and a General Store. In the winter, we offer Guided Raft trips, Guided Snowmobile Tours, X-C Ski and Snowshoe Rentals. Last year, we added Guided ATV Tours. Our goal is to enrich lives by helping guests to connect with family and friends while providing memorable OUTDOOR experiencesem. /emFor the full-time, uyear-round/u Recreation Manager position, the rate starts at $15-$18/hr based on training and experience, plus tips, and includes paid vacation time and other benefits. For the full-time useasonal/u Assistant Manager position, the rate is $14-16/hr and includes some benefits. The Assistant position can lead to year-round employment. Certain weekends are mandatory at specific times of the year (due to the seasonal nature of the business). A chaufferrsquo;s license is required, and the candidates must be able to lift 100 lbs occasionally and 30-50 lbs frequently during the summer season. These positions require the ideal candidates to perform a wide variety of tasks, including, but not limited to: ulliGreet guests in a friendly and professional manner and determine their needs, assisting them in any way. Plan, organize and coordinate safe movement of our guests and equipment to and from the Sturgeon River./liliWork hand in hand with our front desk staff. River and equipment knowledge, inspections, maintenance and repair of all equipment will be required./liliWorking knowledge of all aspects of our Adventure Golf Course, Ropes Challenge Course and Bumper Boats/liliHelp with river and river access clean-up. Maintain a positive relationship with our ldquo;river neighborsrdquo;./liliGuide Winter Raft trips, Snowmobile Tours, and help with X-C Ski and Snowshoe rentals./liliGuide ATV Tours/liliSchedule, train, and supervise up to 15 employees and coordinate ldquo;team building activitiesrdquo; and river clean-ups with staff.
