What You Will Be Doing
Our Senior Controls Engineer will design and program control systems for conveyor and our AS/RS material handling systems. This includes designing the system electrically for the control panel and the field work, selecting proper hardware for the system, completing all pertinent documentation, writing the PLC program, HMI program, commissioning and testing the system.
Additional responsibilities will include
Designing controls hardware infrastructures (Ethernet/IP, AS-Interface DeviceNET, and occasionally Profibus).
Design of control panels, creating panel layout drawings for quoting and/or constructing purposes.
PLC programming using Rockwell PLC software and occasionally Siemens S7.
HMI design and development.
Write PLC programming using Add-On Instructions, User Defined Types, ladder logic, and structured text.
Technical writing of descriptions of operation / functional specification.
Set-up field devices (motion control devices (VFD's, servo's), barcode scanners and image readers.
Perform project management functions and Assist Project Manager with overall project schedule and strictly adhere to all milestone dates.
Participate in all activities related to implementing the PLC program(s) including installation support, commissioning, testing, and stand by support.
Work with electrical installation companies in procuring them for implementing pipe and wire installation.
What You Need for this Position
Experience with PLC programming using Rockwell PLC software (Siemens S7 is a plus!)
Experience with HMI design and development
Experience designing control panels and creating panel layout drawings for quoting
Experience designing controls hardware infrastructures
Experience with commissions and testing systems
Experience working in the material handling industry/ warehouse management software systems industry or related machine controls field
Experience with AutoCAD electrical to create device layout schematics & control panel drawings
Strong with MS Office and RSLogix 5
Supply chain application experience is a plus!
Fluent in German or Spanish is a plus!
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical experience or degree
