Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan. Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health. Strives to achieve optimal outcomes.

4 North - Ortho Trauma:

-31 Beds

-Population: Working support for our Level One Trauma Program. Patients have been injured as a result of a traumatic event. 80% of 4 North’s trauma patients are the result on blunt trauma and 20% is penetrating trauma. In addition to the trauma program 4 North will also take miscellaneous surgical admissions and medical admissions as needed by the hospital.¿ ¿Admissions come directly from the Emergency Department or form the Surgical ICU. Average stay for a patient on 4 North is less than 5 days.¿ We also care for our burn patients on this unit.

-Why 4 North: Nurses on the unit get to work on a ever changing and challenging patient population. No day on 4 North is the same. You will be working closely with the orthopedic and surgical services departments made up of mid-level providers, resident programs and attending physicians.

Basic Qualifications:

Education - Associate's Degree in Nursing Bachelor's Degree in of Science in Nursing must be obtained within 5 years for those who start in this RN role on or after January 1, 2017 - SHGR Bachelor's Degree in of Science in Nursing must be obtained within 7 years for those who start in this RN role between January 1, 2013 and December 31, 2016 - SHGR

Experience - Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program

Licenses -

Registered Nurse (RN) State of Michigan Upon Hire

Basic Life Support (BLS) 90 Days
