Spectrum Health Nursing Technician Acute Care of the Elderly Blodgett Full Time Nights in Grand Rapids, Michigan

Facility: Blodgett Hospital - GRAND RAPIDS, MI Department: Acute Care Of Elderly-Bl (Ace) Category: Nursing Assistant Classification: Full-time with Benefits (A1) A nursing technician in Acute Care of the Elderly (1D) at Blodgett Hospital acts as a team member in the delivery of quality patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Performs basic skills per hospital/unit guidelines and communicates observations to members of the health care team. Acute Care of the Elderly (1D ACE - Blodgett) -21 Beds -Population: Geriatric Population – heart failure, diabetes, pneumonia, failure to thrive (due to dementia, etc.), falls. -Orientation: Orientation is mandatory and done full time during the day Monday through Friday and the following Monday and Tuesday. -Why ACE: The ACE unit has a team of dedicated, compassionate team members focused on the unique needs of the older adult population. Patients present with acute and chronic needs which are addressed by a multidisciplinary team approach. The care of the older adult is often viewed as challenging yet rewarding. Scheduling Expectations: This is a part time day position with the expectation of working 48 hours every two weeks. This position utilizes core scheduling. An employee will be hired into a permanent schedule that repeats every 6 weeks. The days and hours are already preset and cannot be permanently changed to accommodate a personal or school schedule. This schedule will not have the ability to drop below 48 hours per pay period. However, there is opportunity to trade shifts with other employees or take PTO when a day off is needed. Successful completion of Nursing Technician orientation.Orientation is mandatory and done full time during the day Monday through Friday and the following Monday and Tuesday.
