Dematic Installation Training Lead in Grand Rapids, Michigan

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with installation managers and subject matter experts to determine training needs

  • Communicate priorities to trainers as assigned by installation management

  • Prepare templates and basic formats for the various training programs being administered

  • Lead effort of all trainers to ensure alignment and eliminate the potential for duplicated efforts

  • Support the effort to create training in various media forms

  • Ensure tech writers select appropriate medium for message or audience, such as manuals or online videos

  • Visit North American project sites to deliver hands-on training when required

  • Maintain employee records to prove training via a Dematic resource database

  • Work with quality to determine where training needs may exist that are not covered with existing training programs

  • Facilitate the design, and continuous improvement of existing training programs

  • Manage training budget effectively when applicable

  • Create and maintain a positive and professional learning environment


Typically a Bachelor’s Degree or advanced degree in the field.


  • Experience teaching/training vocational skills (welders, electricians, millwrights, etc.)

  • Proof of knowledge of learning and teaching styles as it relates to vocational skills

  • Able to travel with minimal notice in North America.

  • Experience with curriculum development and soft skills (communication skills, critical thinking, time management, team building, etc.)

  • High energy, enthusiastic, motivational training style

  • Excellent creative and conceptual thinking abilities

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Computer literate with in-depth knowledge of MS office (specifically Teams, PowerPoint, Word, & Excel) and web-based systems; visual aids technology

  • Strong organizational, planning, problem resolution, communication, presentation, facilitation, and influencing skills

  • Strong people management and leadership skills

  • Superior organizational skills, attention to detail/level of quality, communication (written and verbal)
