About This Opportunity
Rockford Construction has an exciting opportunity for an Architectural Designer based in the Grand Rapids, Michigan office. As an Architectural Designer at Rockford Construction, you will create plans, drawings, and layouts for buildings and landscapes. This job includes meeting with clients to discuss a project’s requirements and budget, creating layouts that reflect the clients need, and ensuring that the plans and renderings comply with regulations. This individual will work primarily from the office, traveling to property and job sites infrequently. The ideal candidate will be have creativity to find new ways to design buildings, have experience producing graphics materials and images for client presentations, the technical skill to utilize Revit/AutoCAD software, and lastly, the communication skills to deal with clients and colleagues alike.

Bachelor’s degree in architecture from an accredited program or similar discipline required.
A minimum of 1 year of experience as an architecture designer or similar.
Autodesk Revit software experience required.
Must be proficient in MS Office, including strong skills in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Strong creative and visualization skills.
Must have a strong attention to detail and be organized.
Must possess the ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks.
Team member who thrives in a fast pace, dynamic work environment.
Reliable transportation to travel to property and job sites when necessary to meet clients' needs.
Must occasionally be able to work an irregular schedule, evenings or Saturdays as needed, additional hours and travel during peak times or as required.
Preferred Skills & Experience
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Google Sketchup is a plus.
A master's degree in architecture from an accredited program.

The work environment for this position may subject the individual to hazards commonly associated with construction sites. Examples of physical hazards include noise, proximity to moving vehicles, atmospheric conditions, close quarters, uneven surfaces, and elevated surfaces. The individual may also be subjected to outside environmental conditions (weather) where protection may not be available. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required at all times outside the job trailer. Occasional lifting of 50 lbs. or less.
