The Salvation Army - Metro Division Security Backup in Flint, Michigan

Purpose:The security backup person will fill in when our regular security supervisor has time off. He/she will provide service, security, and personal safety on behalf of those who visit the Flint Citadel Corps for the purpose of worship, service, or program participation.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Unlock and relock all appropriate exterior doors of the Flint Citadel facility for programming as instructed.
Unlock and relock all appropriate interior doors for program, service, or worship needs.
Deactivate and reactivate specific security alarms for building areas in use.
Assist with parking area accessibility (e.g., salting/shoveling entry door areas, opening/closing parking gate, etc.).
Turn on lights and ensure program areas are accessible and available at scheduled times.
Turn off all lights, closing down program areas.
Monitors security cameras.
Open any locked exterior door for those arriving late.
Assist with greeting and directing corps visitors to appropriate program areas.
Provide oversight on corps equipment and items within the programs areas to prevent theft, vandalism, or destruction.
Assist with setup, takedown, or other preparation of specific program areas, including, but not limited to, removal of trash, straightening of tables and chairs, etc.
Inform the corps officer or any problems relating to the existing security system, building management, or property that may occur or be observed during the security duties.
Other duties as assigned.
Clear understanding and acceptance of the mission and ministry of The Salvation Army.
Good social and communication skills with children, youth, and adults.
Must exhibit a high degree of responsibility and trustworthiness.
Must be able to successfully pass background check and be bondable.
Maintain current Safe from Harm Certification or take training to become certified.
Experience is preferred but not required.
Ability to log in and out of ADP in order to punch in and out.

Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
Must be able to shovel a reasonable amount of snow.
