As an Automotive Powertrain Sr Calibration Engineering , you must be motivated to go above and beyond the call of duty. In addition to having an expert level understanding of internal combustion engine/powertrain calibration, the proper candidate must have excellent leadership skills, be detail-oriented and organized with excellent analytic, and problem-solving abilities. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
Define Testing, Software, and Calibration project requirements
Mentor a team of cross functional Calibration and Software Engineers
Work with internal and external customers to design and release calibrations for various Powertrain Systems to meet customer design and performance requirements, while meeting all regulations.
Manage calibration development activities to ensure the project is kept on-time, on-spec, and on-budget.
Provide technical expertise on improvements, and development of new algorithms through rapid software prototyping design and experimentation.
Provide technical direction to support personnel, by leading root cause analysis and error correction of system level problems relating to calibration, controls, hardware, software, and architecture.
Expected travel 4 - 6 weeks throughout the year
Valid US driver's license with an excellent driving record
Willingness to travel domestically and/or internationally as required
Bachelor of Science Engineering
5 or more years of experience with Powertrain Calibration of internal combustion engines or powertrain systems
Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree from an accredited university.
Demonstrated Successful Calibration Lead Responsibility of at least one Customer Program
Experience in a customer facing or customer interaction role.
Knowledge and understanding of electrical hardware and software systems.
Hands-on experience understanding and working with complex control functions.
Excellent system level problem solving and analytical skills.
Excellent data analysis and presentation skills.
Effective customer communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven leadership ability to foster teamwork, and drive resolution of issues.
Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
Knowledge of MS office programs (including MS-Project), email clients and databases
