Location: Farmington Hills, MI, US Company: PACCAR Requisition Summary The successful candidate will lead: (1) OBD calibrations, integration, and verification to align and support emission programs, running changes, and compliance; (2) technical resources to create OBD requirement documents based on OBD (1971.1) regulations; and (3) product-preceding technology supporting upcoming OBD regulations. They will also develop processes to support regulatory aspects of advanced development at all PACCAR divisions, reducing risk by coordinating data analysis, approaches to prototyping, and early-stage algorithms, all of which lead to robust, compliant OBD systems for PACCAR. Division InformationThe PACCAR Technical Center provides engineering excellence to the truck, engine, and winch divisions of PACCAR Inc through innovative product development and testing. The Technical Center is located in the Skagit Valley about 65 miles north of Seattle, Washington. This position is located in the Michigan Office in beautiful Farmington Hills. Job Functions / Responsibilities * Plans, coordinates, communicates, and conducts projects of moderate scope with minimal supervision. * Provide strategic technical leadership for OBD * Develop processes for PACCAR to communicate and track requirements, status, and risk around OBD and regulatory items in general * Communicate at the project level with development programs to help ensure compliant product * Ensure that OBD requirements are brought inside PACCAR's engineering development process * Understand and evaluate product preceding technology from an OBD point-of-view, including RCP solutions * Be accountable for vehicle level OBD calibration, integration, and verification * Provide technical leadership and support for PACCAR's ARB negotiating team * Establish and maintain cooperative and productive work relations with all other departments * Communicate with manager, peers, and division personnel of work progress, support, problems, scheduling conflicts, or opportunities of which they should be aware. Qualifications * Based on 10 years or more experience: working knowledge of class 8 vehicles; diesel engines, aftertreatment, and powertrain, PACCAR experience a plus. * Experience with engine testing, including test cell work and remote location testing * Ability to work well in a team environment * Ability to summarize technical issues and communicate effectively * Ability to management personal workload and willingness, flexibility and initiative to respond to shifting time and project demands. * Deep expertise in HD OBD, including practical and historic knowledge of 1971.1, 1971.5. * Experience managing a team * Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills * Travel up to 20% required.
