H.W. Kaufman Group Network Administrator in Farmington Hills, Michigan
Position Summary:
H.W. Kaufman is searching for a Network Administrator who can implement equipment installations, maintain each component of the network and troubleshoot LAN/WLAN/WAN solutions. The Network Administrator will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining all network devices including the firewall, assessing the functionality of the network routers and switches, ensuring all Internet security software and devices images are updated regularly, developing and implementing company standard policies in accordance with the direction given my IT management.
Support of LAN/WLAN/WAN solutions within the environment
Install and Support network and storage network hardware and software
Perform incident response and break-fix triage for issues related to a variety of network platforms including voice services.
Provide second tier and overflow support for end user issues during normal and after hours
Manage ongoing network projects
Work with key vendors on new solutions, existing systems and escalate and troubleshoot severity issues
Manage data and voice networks from selected providers
Assist end user with support on network issues, voice incidents and related issues that may arise while users are working from home or from their mobile device.
Create and maintain Run Books, defining day-to-day support, maintenance, troubleshooting knowledgebase of the infrastructure.
Develop and maintain documentation and training materials
Maintain and update documentation for high availability datacenters and its associated process and procedures for events
Provide updates and support documents to users and management as needed
Plan for updates/upgrades to existing systems.
Plan and implement new projects as directed by IT management
Deploy hardware to HQ and offices as needed
Use corporate provided educational tools to expand knowledge and skillset in technology
Research solutions through internal and external knowledge bases as needed.
Identify and learn appropriate software and hardware used and supported by the organization.
Provide insight and recommendations on processes and procedures for improvement.
Learn and understand the department’s technology, projects and applications.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, business administration, or equivalent work experience
3-5 years experience in networking within Information Technology and business/industry
Hands-on experience with CISCO ISR routers, Nexus 5K, 7K and 9K and Catalyst 9K platforms along with Wireless Networking technologies.
Experience, knowledge and understanding of the industry leading infrastructure systems and tools such as: CISCO ISR routers, Nexus 5K, 7K and 9K and Catalyst 9K platforms, Citrix Netscaler Load Balancers, Cisco ISE, Cisco AnyConnect
Subject Matter Expertise in the following technologies, including but not limited to: Internet/ISP (Edge) routing, Firewall, Route/Switch, Cloud Proxies, VPN, Load balancers
Experience with SIP, MGCP, H.323, SCCP is a plus
Firm understanding of Quality of Service (QOS)
Experience troubleshooting network communication issues over MPLS cloud technologies between HQ, DR, and office locations
Expertise in routing and switching, including BGP, OSPF, HSRP, VRF, NAT, ACLs and IP Multicast routing
Preferred Experience with Cisco ACI Networking platforms, Multi-Site Controllers and other datacenter technologies
Virtualization Technologies
Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and critical thinking skills
Exceptional customer service skills
Self-motivated and ability to demonstrate self-initiative
Familiarity with video conferencing applications such as Webex Meeting, GoToMeeting, Microsoft Teams
Experience with a ticketing platform such as Service-Now
Experience with SD-WAN technologies is a plus
Knowledge of IP Telephony systems including Cisco Unified Communications
Knowledge of SNMP, Netflow, DHCP and other administration and management protocols
Additional Requirements
Ability to manage tasks and frequent interruptions
Ability to lift 30-50lbs without assistance
Willingness to work nights, weekends, participate in project based and on call activities outside of normal business hours
Willingness to take on special projects outside of scope of responsibility
Ability to travel as needed for office visitation/upgrades
