Golder is currently seeking a Geologist/EnvironmentalScientist to join our Detroit,MI office on a fulltime basis.

Primaryresponsibilities for this position include:

  • Workwith project teams on environmental projects that involve field work, dataevaluation, data management and report preparation.

  • Conductfield assignments, such as drilling supervision, borehole logging, ground andsurface water sampling, site reconnaissance, geomapping and constructionmonitoring.

  • Projectassignments has potential for up to 50% national and international travel.

  • Summarizethe findings of the field assignments and input data into environmental datamanagement systems and reports.

  • Performoffice tasks such as geotechnical and environmental data entry, laboratorycoordination, historical and regulatory database research, and reportpreparation.

The successful candidatewill have a background in:

  • Bachelor’sin geology, environmental geology or environmental science, or equivalency and 1-2years of environmental work experience. Consideration may be given to candidatewith a M.S. degree and 1 years of work experience;

  • Strongcomputer skills and experience with industry standard commercial computersoftware including: Microsoft Office;

  • Geologicfield skills such as core logging, soil sampling, groundwater sampling,operation and maintenance of field instrumentation;

  • Detailoriented with strong analytical skill and a positive attitude as well as theability to work both independently and on teams;

  • Willingnessto obtain 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER health and safety training certification and towork on sites that are potentially impacted by releases of regulated chemicals.Prior completion of 40-hour training preferred;

  • Comfortablein remote settings, with a can-do attitude, and a willingness to perform avariety of tasks as needed to complete an assignment and satisfy projectdemands;

  • Relocationis not available for this position.
