Position Summary

Research Associate (Postdoctoral) Position in Experimental Physics specializing in Terahertz Microscopy Department of Physics and Astronomy, Michigan State University

Research Associate position is available for a project based on Ultrafast Terahertz Scanning Tunneling Microscopy. The project involves constructing a third-generation terahertz scanning tunneling microscope (THz-STM) and studying ultrafast dynamics in single molecules, nanostructures, and correlated electron systems with simultaneous ultrafast temporal resolution and atomic spatial resolution.

A Ph. D. degree in physics or related areas is required prior to the starting date. Eligible candidates must have previously constructed an ultrahigh vacuum THz-STM setup and be familiar with all aspects of THz-STM operation, including the theoretical basis of the technique.
