People Business Manager - Corporate ServicesIn this critical role on AlixPartners' Corporate Services team, you will serve as a key people business partner for Southfield based Corporate Services teams with a dedicated focus on the implementation of people strategy, business operations and people development for the Corporate Services functional teams. This role also involves employee relations matters and being a trusted advisor to the business.The People Business Manager role position is a full-time role located in Southfield, Michigan and reports to the People Business Partner, Director. Paid relocation is not available for this position.Key Responsibilities:•Key owner and manager of Corporate Services Title and Job Description Programs to ensure global consistency with appropriate Equal Employment Opportunity "EEO" assignment and Fair Labor Standards Act "FLSA" classifications:•Work closely with hiring manager and internal recruiter to approve new roles - titles, FLSA classification, job description and EEO assignment.•Manage and approve internal title changes; ensure consistency with the firm-wide global initiative.•Support the firm in revising and creating job descriptions for Corporate Services roles.•Evaluate roles for exempt vs non-exempt FLSA classifications.•Monitor and organize main job inbox, which includes title change: requests, inquiries, etc.•Serve as a trusted advisor to management and staff on career development, performance management and related.•Lead annual performance review and compensation planning process for select teams.•Handle performance matters for select teams including employee off-boarding, exit discussions, and supporting performance improvement related discussions.•Execute and manage special projects focused on People Matters.•Avoid legal challenges by staying abreast of current legislation and legislative trends, recognizing opportunities for / recommending related procedural improvements and assisting with the internal implementation and enforcement of regulations.•Additional responsibilities as identified.Qualifications/Requirements:•Bachelor's degree required. Human Resources degree or certification preferred.•Minimum of 7+ years of business and human resources experience (or equivalent) required, preferably in a professional services firm.•Strong writing skills required.
