What you will be able to do

The Experience Development Team ensures that desirable customer experiences are translated into a series of physical/digital engineering feature requirements. We accomplish this by creating high-level systems engineering documents, assessing emotive customer attributes and leading cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that will delight our customers.

In this position, designers take the elements of an exceptional mobility experience and distill the enablers down to discrete actionable items that will be deployed by the program teams. Simply, we seek to define “How It Works” for our customers. This requires close collaboration with Design, HMI, UX, Marketing, Engineering and Program Management.

Experience Development is a growing team that treats mobility as an enjoyable journey, not just transportation. The ideal candidate is passionate about vehicle experiences and committed to improving the products we deliver.

  • This internship consists of customer research and product creation to develop a solution to current customer usage pain points. The Intern will:

  • Benchmark current internal and competitive executions

  • Conduct external customer research through surveys and online interviews

  • Collate results and present customer POV

  • Propose and present a solution or strategy that supports the customer POV

  • Create a vehicle level engineering specification for execution of the new solution or strategy if applicable

  • Cross functional collaboration with Attribute, Feature and Functional engineers

The minimum requirements we seek

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

Our preferred requirements

  • Passion for User Experience and Customer based design

  • Ability to translate abstract concepts into actionable items for implementation

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Skills

  • Excellent teamwork, leadership, interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to interact effectively with senior management and other organizations

  • Passion for engineering and product excellence

  • Self-starter with ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with minimal direction

  • Comfortable with changing environment of early Program work
