Treatment Nurse LPN LTC Req #: 30127964 Category: Clinical/Allied Health Facility: Beaumont Health Post Acute Department: Wound Care Center Schedule: Full time Shift: DaysHours: 7:00am- 7:30pm Job Details:GENERAL SUMMARY:The Treatment Nurse is responsible for performing treatments as ordered by the physician. Uses good aseptic technique in performing any and all treatments. Notifies physicians of improvements or regression of skin problems. Documents on appropriate records the treatments and resultsESSENTIAL DUTIES:1. Prescribed treatment performed according to the physician's order.2. Treatment carts neat, clean and stocked with appropriate medications and treatment supplies.3. Daily charting on the Pressure Ulcer and Wound Flow sheet and follow-up on all treatments with description and progress of treatment. If treatment is not effective notifies the physician of lack of progress.4. Conducts product analysis/trials and recommends skin care equipment, products, supplies, and techniques.5. Ensures pressure-relieving devices are on residents' beds and preventive equipment is being used if indicated.6. Notifies the Skin/Wound Coordinator of any new pressure sores, regression of pressure sore/wound progress, infections, increase in drainage, and lack of response from treatment plan.7. Gathers pressure sore and wound data and reports to the weekly Skin Meeting.8. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with the medical staff, nursing and other departments.9. Furthers knowledge of research and progress in skin care, resident education and personal development through periodicals and educational activities.STANDARD QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Work Experience: Three to five years of nursing experience in Long Term Care, along with two years minimum wound care experience, including skin care and infection control policies and procedures.C. Certification, Licensure, Registration: Current and unrestricted Licensure in the State of Michigan (Licensed Practical Nurse),BLS Certification required.D. Other Qualifications: Requires interpersonal skills necessary to collaborate with all levels of staff, including physicians, nursing staff and residents and their support groups. Requires the analytical ability to apply expertise to identify problems and recommend solutions in nursing practices, procedures and resident care.
