High Voltage (HV) Battery System Engineer

What you will be able to do
Ford is committed to redefining human mobility with a strong focus on sustainability That’s why we are advancing the production of best-in-class electrified vehicle concepts. We are looking for you to play a lead role in the design and development of sophisticated High Voltage (HV) battery arrays and systems for these electrified vehicles. You will:
Lead the creation of packaging for sophisticated HV battery systems
Partner with the vehicle package team, suppliers and HV battery component engineers
Develop interfaces and ensure package compatibility
Identify and develop battery array and system level requirements
Lead design trade-offs between thermal, packaging, NVH and hardware/software solutions
Support modeling and validation of advanced HV battery systems and components
Collaborate with battery/battery system component suppliers
Support internal platform and sub-system customers
The minimum requirements we seek
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Materials Engineering
Three or more years of experience designing and testing HV battery arrays, system and/or system components
Our preferred requirements
Master’s Degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Materials Engineering
Research, production or development experience with a major battery cell supplier, OEM or Tier I supplier
Background in battery array/system design, battery structural, electrical and thermal system development/validation
In-depth knowledge of TeamCenter, CATIA or other CAD/CAE tools
Experience with HV battery durability and crash safety CAE or testing
Strong project leadership, consulting and hands-on abilities
Experience in automotive technology, especially in electrified vehicles
Excellent teamwork, communication and multi-tasking skills
