Aerotek Android Embedded Software Developer in Dearborn, Michigan

  • The Infotainment Embedded Software Developer is responsible for creating software services for infotainment systems

  • Embedded Android development with AOSP, HAL, GAS middleware for infotainment system

  • Design, document, integrate, and test APIs / SDKs that provide services for: media, phone, navigation, speech–recognition, mobile device connectivity, and CAN network communication

  • Leverage understanding of the platform architecture to assess and participate in the technical design, feasibility, and planning process

  • Research new trends / technologies in Android embedded development

  • Develop User Experience (UX) embedded code for an infotainment platform

  • Create / review UX High Level Design documentation

  • Ensure code robustness by creating unit tests and monitoring your code commits throughout the CI/CD process

  • Participate in architecture and code reviews

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

  • 2+ years of experience developing software for embedded Android AOSP for automotive, embedded, mobile, or consumer electronic platforms

  • Software development experience with JAVA and/or Kotlin

  • Software development experience at HMI, middleware, or OS/BSP layers

  • 1+ years of experience developing software leveraging Agile concepts such as SCRUM, SAFe, or Kanban

  • Excellent project management skills, customer focus, as well as written and oral communication skills
