TEMPORARY COOK BERRIEN COUNTY JUVENILE CENTER($11.00/hr) REQUIRED: Completion of the eighth grade. DUTIES: The Temporary works as an on-call, temporary employee to fill scheduled or emergency vacancies within the facility Food Service Department. Under the direction of a designated Juvenile Center Supervisor, or fulltime personnel, the Temporary Cook is responsible for preparing/serving nutritional and palatable meals according to recipes and the established menus. The Temporary Cook is required to operate a variety of kitchen equipment and utensils with utmost care and maintain strict accountability for items that pose a facility security concern. The Temporary Cook is required to maintain a thoroughly clean and sanitary kitchen and dining area. The Temporary Cook is required to stock food inventory and supplies and maintains accurate records as instructed. The Temporary Cook may be required to supervise the work of Juvenile Center residents assigned to kitchen duty. The Temporary Cook may be required to work weekends, Holidays or evenings as scheduled.
