Procurement Analyst

Function Overview:

A highly visible role working closely with senior business leaders, legal, and procurement to analyze, develop, and drive category-specific sourcing initiatives to meet and exceed business metrics in terms of cost, quality, service, and delivery. The position will cover around $30M spend (not limited to this value) within Indirect Procurement, having a specific focus on the Marketing and Sales categories.

In this role, you will develop, support, lead, and/or manage the development of category strategies, multiple sourcing, and process projects, continuous improvement plans, supplier Service Level Agreements, etc. You will support/lead regional (North America and Latin America) and global procurement initiatives, industry benchmarking, and new ways to improve cash flow. You may also find yourself analyzing spend data to uncover new potential opportunities and leveraging best practices from global counterparts.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the business relationship between Whirlpool and its Suppliers of specific Marketing & Sales commodities across all product categories within our Global Strategic Sourcing organization (supplier selection, supplier development, contract negotiations, supplier issue resolution, supplier cost reductions, purchase order approvals, and management)

  • Develop collaborative relationships with Business Stakeholders (including senior leadership) and suppliers

  • Provide leadership and management for categories and multiple procurement projects

  • Drive extraordinary results in meeting critical cost savings, free cash flow, supply base rationalization, spend under contract, service quality, and business objectives.

  • Drive change, compliance, and continuous improvement

  • Strong capability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Co-Lead Supplier Reviews with Business Stakeholders

  • Manage category activities by:

  • Developing and implementing category strategies to drive direction and results

  • Engaging with the Indirect Procurement teams from other regions and cross-functional business partners to define global strategies and find sourcing opportunities and synergies

  • Supporting business imperatives through sourcing related activities and enabling the Culture of Cost and the Digital Consumer Journey construction with the cross-functional teams

  • Managing sourcing projects, key initiatives, bids, and supplier negotiations

  • Verifying spend analysis, market insights, Service Level Agreements, and total cost of ownership

  • Assessing current business and legal risks in existing and or new contracts

  • Drafting contracts and/or statements of work between Whirlpool and suppliers

  • Building accountability for supplier performance relative to contracted service levels

  • Managing supplier pay terms in adherence to Whirlpool policy

  • Rightsizing of supply base both through addition and rationalization

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Procurement, Marketing or Supply Chain.

  • 3+ years experience in Procurement, Marketing, Supply Chain, and/or Business.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Spanish language fluency

  • Master’s Degree in Marketing, Procurement, or Business

  • Experience in Marketing & Sales

  • Experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and familiarity with e-sourcing tools

  • Ability to successfully manage critical projects in adherence to objectives and milestones

  • Proficient in strategic bid processes, supplier management, and other procurement principles

  • Successful negotiation experience, contract development, and contract execution

  • Ability to understand Whirlpool business environment, requirements, and corporate culture

  • Skilled in handling multiple priorities simultaneously

  • Strong planning, organizational, managing, financial, and analytical skills

  • Exceptional interpersonal, motivational, and influential skills to engage business partners

  • Strong leadership attributes and decision-making abilities

  • Strong customer focus with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the business

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with proficient presentation skills
