Minimum Qualifications

  • BS Electrical Engineering or Licensed Master Electrician w/ power distribution experience

  • 3 - 5 years’ experience in Electrical Engineering

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Engaged electrical professional, excited about his or her discipline, seeking to make a difference, who enjoys working in a team environment

  • Demonstrated capital project management experience

  • Ability to read, interpret, and modify drawings (mark ups)

  • Ability to work all shifts, all days, including weekends and holidays as needed (only as urgency or projects demand)

  • Able to calculate Return on Investment and energy savings (KWH and CO2)

  • Possess computer skills - MS Office

  • Possess computer skills - Programmable Logic Controllers and ladder logic

  • Possess troubleshooting skills for investigating and correcting system failures

  • Able to understand communication protocols for analyzing and improving electrical monitoring networks

  • Able to create capital budgets

  • Able to create and present formal project presentations.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage projects involving all Facilities disciplines: concept, plan, scope, design, specify and implement. Follow through final punch list.

  • Provide information to department customers regarding load balancing of busses and sub stations.

  • Provide information to department customers for NFPA 70E arc flash protection and protection device coordination.

  • Provide electrical engineering assistance to other project managers in organization.

  • Support Facilities personnel as electrical consultant as needed.

  • Maintain Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) documents for all major electrical systems.

  • Size electrical switchgear, transformers, conductors, etc. as needed.

  • Monitor and direct outside contractors as needed.

  • Lead project coordination for activities during annual electrical PM (usually Labor Day Weekend)

  • Travel to support affiliate plants as needed.

Preferences

  • Focused electrical power distribution system experience

  • Energy conservation project experience

  • Electrical safety program experience

  • HVAC mechanical systems experience

  • Facilities Monitoring Systems (FMS) implementation and maintenance experience

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job you may be asked to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift or carry component parts weighing up to 35 pounds-lifting parts in excess of 35 pounds with a lift assist, work on the production line for short periods of time, use hands to handle or feel parts, reach with hand and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and hear, use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, frequent phone use and typing. The work environment will vary from an open office setting to a production environment.
