FCA US, LLC Senior Calibration Engineer in Auburn Hills, Michigan

The Senior Calibration Engineer is responsible for conducting engine hardware and systems testing along with calibration development. The Engineer will plan and coordinate day-to-day activities of an engine dynamometer including interaction with technicians and support engineers. In addition, test plans and time lines will be developed and reports generated to communicate the status of the program to the larger team. Evaluations will occur with new engine hardware and powertrain technologies for future and carry over applications. The Engineer will analyze and solve complex system problems as they relate to engine performance, fuel consumption, emissions, and base engine calibration development. The Engineer will manipulate and utilize large and complex sets of engine mapping data. The Engineer will also actively participate in the decision process of base engine hardware selection and core engine calibration to achieve functional objectives.Basic Qualifications:•Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent engineering degree•5+ years of experience in the development and calibration of gasoline spark ignition engines; or Master of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 3 years of experience in the development and calibration of gasoline spark ignition engine•Strong knowledge of internal combustion engines•Data acquisition experience collecting and processing data•Working knowledge of engine analysis and calibration tools, emissions development, engine technologies and competitive products•Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills•Good teamwork skills and ability to work independently•Effective communication and interpersonal skillsPreferred Qualifications:•Master of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university•Experience and overall knowledge in emissions development and OBDII diagnostics / powertrain systems development / controls systems development•Calibration process knowledge using design of experiments and advanced optimization techniques•Proficient in advanced simulation tools•Proficient in MATLAB / SimulinkOur benefits reflects the FCA commitment to helping you reach your personal and professional goals.
