As a member of our North American Engineering Group of our Automotive Division, the RF Hardware Engineer, Automotive will support the design and test of new active antennas for automotive applications. Designs include LNA, AM/FM/DAB Amplifier, RF Transceiver front-end circuits. Frequency bands include AM/FM/WB, 3G/4G Cell, WLAN/Bluetooth/Zigbee, GNSS, SXM, DSRC/V2V, DAB. Redesign current antennas for improved performance, reduced cost and/or adding additional frequency bands. This person will coordinate with RF engineers on requirements for antennas, prepare antenna amplifier specifications, and develop RF circuit design concepts. Occasional travel including international travel is required. As a RF Hardware Engineer, Automotive, a typical day may include: * Support designing and testing new active antennas for automotive applications * Support in design of LNA, AM/FM/DAB Amplifier, RF Transceiver front-end circuits. Frequency bands include AM/FM/WB, 3G/4G Cell, WLAN/Bluetooth/Zigbee, GNSS, SXM, DSRC/V2V, DAB * Confirm designs through simulations and measurements * Building functional prototypes * Participate in overseeing and performing design verification and confirming performance in reports for antenna system * Schematic design and PCB layouts * Complete documentation Click here for Life At TE WHAT YOUR BACKGROUND SHOULD LOOK LIKE... * BS Electrical/Electronic Engineering. MS Electrical Engineering in Wireless Communications, preferred * 1-3+ years antenna development and testing experience * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Knowledge with electromagnetic (EM) and circuit simulation software * Proficiency with antenna test equipment including VNA, spectrum analyzer, noise figure meter and test antennas Nice to have… * AM/FM, GNSS, DAB and/or SXM LNA design experience * LNA measurements including gain, noise figure, 1 dB compression, IP3 * Basic knowledge of standard manufacturing processes such as PCB fabrication and assembly * Basic understanding of quality systems * Automotive experience is a plus What TE Connectivity offers… We offer competitive total rewards compensation.
