FCA US, LLC Manufacturing Data Architect in Auburn Hills, Michigan

The FCA Manufacturing, Planning and Control (MPC) organization is currently seeking a highly skilled, result-oriented Data Architect to join our BDA (Big Data Analytics) team at our FCA Headquarters in Auburn Hills, Michigan. The Data Architect is responsible for the design and implementation of database solutions to support FCA Business Systems and Data Scientists. This role will be designing and deploying advanced data designs that integrate operational database platforms with the capabilities of big data platforms, business analytics tools and new database platforms to drive innovative business decisions. The position requires creativity, the drive to work “hands-on” with new technologies and the ability to work with a diverse team of data scientists, business analysts and IT professionals in an agile development environment. The team will enhance business systems and integrate operational analytics to create customer/business insights. This position manages and coordinates infrastructure deployments related to databases and work to develop support processes managed by a separate operational team. The successful candidate needs strong problem solving and communication skills and is comfortable dealing with team members ranging from business analysts up to executive managers. Creative problem solvers with top-shelf database design experience will contribute to building the future of Data Services at FCA while taking their own career to the next level. The Data Architect designs and implements the data architecture for creating predictive tools to improve manufacturing performance. Specifically, this includes being responsible for developing normalized, dimensional, and hybrid data models to support reporting, analytics, and APIs used by other internal and external applications.The Data Architect will serve as the primary data modeler and provide oversight of the following areas:•Data Ingestion- moving source system data to a unified data lake•Data Modeling – determining field-level data usage•Data Wrangling – identifying queries/algorithms to efficiently transform data from source system formats to a unified RDBMS schema•Data Quality – ensuring complete and uninterrupted data mappings from source to canonical formEssential Job Functions:•Perform detailed data analysis and translate business requirements into logical and physical data models•Lead complex technical data warehouse discussions on modeling, integration, and overall technology solutions and designBasic Requirements:•Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative related field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics•5+ years of IT work experience•4+ years of DBA/data architect experience•2+ years DBA experience with relational databases•5+ years of experience in leading/designing database solutions•4+ years of SQL experience•Experience in the evaluation and selection of DBMS platforms, tools and utilities•Experience in designing/deploying DB maintenance processes•Ability to work in agile development environment and quickly adapt to changing business requirements•Ability to bring creative/innovative approaches to solving complex data design, data integration and data visualization problems•Ability to understand how to combine internal and external data sources in order to develop key data feeds to support analysis by data scientists•Ability to work with a diverse and high skilled team and collaborate effectively•Project management experience, ability to multi-task and strong follow-up skills•Strong communication skills and the ability to present information in a
