We are looking for a Field Service Technician - Auburn Hills, MIThe Field Service Technician is responsible for mobile diagnosis, repair, measurement system analysis, and technical support. The technician develops customer relationships, understands processes and procedures, and provides immediate response to problems. The technician also serves as the liaison to the Service Center providing feedback and recommendations for improved customer loyalty.Key Responsibilities* Work with customer engineering, assembly line builder and end-user plant personnel to diagnose and resolve technical problems or modifications required in the field on Apex fastening systems* Work with customer engineering/ and IT to connect Apex fastening systems to customer networks for LMS and Data collection systems* Work with Customer, Service Center, Product Specialists, Application Engineering, and product RD to develop solutions for customer issues* Assist manufacturing in fastening system assembly as needed* Assist Service Center in tool repairs as needed* Keep timely records of service visits, weekly time sheets, and expense reporting* Adhere to customer site Safety and 5S Standards* Build positive relationships with customers* Travel required 30-40%* Other duties as assignedKnowledge Requirements* Capable of reading electrical, pneumatic and mechanical drawings* Experience with LAN/WAN networks Preferred* Basic knowledge of computer systems* Strong troubleshooting skills* Ability to verbally express and exchange ideas with customer and company employees* Ability to receive detailed information through oral and written communication* Ability to communicate in written form by memo, and Field Service Trip Reports, which outline work accomplished at customer sites, and advise of requirements which remain open to be completed by Apex Tool Group or customer at a future date* Must be able to work independently with little supervision* Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing work schedules* Resourceful, rollup the sleeves attitude must have the initiative to resolve problems and seek answers independently and enthusiastically persist until goals are achieved* Strong interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and demanding situations.
